Design for specific users
The design brief states the content of this project as follows: "Co-design a product to support a person with a disability in daily life."
In this project, the members were challenged to work together as a team in close collaboration with the client who is on the autistic spectrum. The goal is to find out about her life, experiences, needs, wishes, and ideas. Together with the client, a supportive product was co-designed and tailored to her needs and wishes.
The end result is a concrete prototype based on the research which will be explained further. The focus lies on the functionality of the product and the user experience. The main question was: How can the experience of a daily task be improved? The final product is a demo model which needs further development before it can be fully implemented in the daily life of the client. The expectations between the team and the client were managed throughout the process. In the end, the group is satisfied and proud of the final product: The Mushroom.
